3D modelling

I would like to run a poll on which 3D packages are best for which aspect of 3D.

The programs are: Maya, Lightwave, 3D S Max, SoftImage XSI and any others in the same sort of pro category.

The categories are: modelling, texturing, rendering, animation and dynamics.

Also in a separate thing, which is the best terrain generating program, personally I find it quite hard in Bryce to move the camera.

Programs are Terragen and Bryce and any others you can tell me about :)
